"Big Picture Science" radio and podcast program overview

Big Picture Science is the weekly radio show and podcast of the SETI Institute. Hosted by Seth Shostak, SETI Institute Fellow and Senior Astronomer, and science journalist Molly Bentley, Big Picture Science explores modern science and technology through smart and humorous storytelling.

Themed episodes feature interviews with top scientists and technology innovators and also try to answer the question, “so what?” Why does this science matter?

Big Picture Science covers topics from the microbiome to virtual reality to the physics of motion to disappearing insects and the intelligence of animals. Every month, one episode is devoted to critical thinking in "Skeptic Check", which separates fact from fiction in science.

Of course, science related to the work of the SETI Institute, whose mission is to explore, understand and explain the origin and nature of life in the universe and the evolution of intelligence, is also covered on Big Picture Science, including moon missions, space exploration, infrared astronomy, Mars, Saturn, SETI, and more.

Big Picture Science is carried on more than 140 radio stations nationwide and is available for download as a podcast on iTunes and other podcast sites.
